Cle Elum is from the Kittitas indian tribe in Kittitas County where we are located. Cle Elum got its name from the Kittitas indians as most of the towns in Washington state have indian sounding names. Therefore, Cle Elum means "Swift Water" in the Kittitas indian tribe. Welcome to Cle Elum Chesapeakes. We started this adventure in 2000. Not very long, when it comes down to it. When we got our first puppy, Rainyvali Coolwater Jewel aka Callie, we were smitten with the breed and what it entails. I have been showing in the conformation ring ever since Callie was old enough to be shown. Our second dog, MarJan's Thirsty Boots aka Boone, has us hopping even as an adult dog. Both of these dogs are from great lines. They come from the well established lines of Meadowood, Sandy Oak, and Krogstadt-Bakken (now known as MarJan Chesapeakes). We are very proud of this and wish to continue these lines in our dogs! We have a new member of the family, Kenda. She is out of our Callie. Cle Elum Columbia River Jewel is a gem of a dog as her name implies! Watch her grow as we do in our photo album! Our puppies are from OFA and CERF certified parents. We make sure that our dogs are healthy and sound before we breed them. This guarantees the puppies to the fullest extent of the breeding. We want every new puppy-owner to be happy with their purchase and care for them as we do ours. My husband and I both hunt train and compete in tests with our dogs and I compete with the dogs in conformation, obedience, rally and next year, agility. Our MissionOur philosophy is that the puppies we send home go to families that would treat these pups as members of their families as we treat ours. These dogs we send home with you are great family pets as well as hunters of bird for the hunting enthusiast. They require a lot of time with the family as well as training for the hunter. They are your buddy and family member for life.
